Hummingbirds and flowers go together like summertime and fireflies; like rainbows and sunshine.”  –Tasha Tudor

Summer is here in Montrose, Iowa!  The front porch is a great place to be with others on a summer day!

Our lovely flower gardens attract all types of hummingbirds and butterflies. So many of us enjoy those moments on our front porch.

The car show in June was a big success!  Residents enjoyed the variety of cars and the wonderful front porch music by the Noisy Neighbors band. The weather was perfect and the food truck was busy.  What a great way to kick off summer!

July brings more summer delights: fireworks, water fun days, music, road trips on our bus, lots of ice cream and a delicious variety of floats.  A Christmas-in-July celebration is a collaboration between the Dietary Department and the Activities Department. Everyone will be encouraged to wear Christmas t-shirts on that day.  The kitchen will be preparing a Christmas dinner at noon.  The Luke 2 Christmas story will be our Bible Study topic and the Weekly Walk Around the Block will become Caroling Around the Block. In the afternoon, residents and staff will decorate Christmas cookies. Christmas fun for all!

Enjoy your summer! The days pass by quickly!

Nursing Update

July is here, and our residents are enjoying all that summer has to offer! The warm weather has been perfect for getting outside, taking walks around the block, and enjoying the sunshine with friends and staff. Spending time outdoors has been a wonderful way to stay active and appreciate the beautiful season.

We are looking forward to celebrating Independence Day by gathering on the porch to watch the fireworks together. Residents will enjoy the colorful display from the comfort of the porch while sharing laughs, conversation, and festive treats. We can’t wait to celebrate this special holiday as a community.

We are also excited to have the SCC CNA students in the building this summer. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and dedication have been a welcome addition to Montrose Health Center. Our residents have enjoyed getting to know the students, and we appreciate the compassionate care and fresh perspectives they bring each day.

We hope everyone has a safe, happy, and relaxing July. Thank you to our families for your continued support and for being such an important part of the Montrose Health Center family!
