Activity Update
April 2026 Activities Newsletter Article
By Laura Zechin
April brings Easter celebrations, gardening, music, crafts, guest speakers, rides and front porch sitting with friends. In the middle of all these April activities, we have some special treat days planned for our residents’ enjoyment.
April Fools’ Day will feature some treats that are not exactly what they seem. Like everything on April Fools’ Day, watch out for jokes!
The 114th anniversary of the Titanic’s sinking will find us sampling some treats like those served on the luxury liner while we discuss Iowa’s Lost Titanic History.
Arbor Day will find us on the front porch sampling some “Tremendous Tree Treats.”
We hope you “treat yourselves” to a wonderful month of April, too!

Nursing Update
Dear Families,
As we welcome the month of April, we are grateful for the changing of the seasons and the sense of renewal that spring brings. With longer days, warmer sunshine, and the first signs of blooming flowers, this time of year reminds us of growth, hope, and new beginnings. Here at Montrose Health Center, we are embracing that spirit in all that we do.
Our residents have been enjoying more opportunities to engage in seasonal activities, from spring-themed crafts to spending time outdoors when the weather allows. Fresh air and sunshine can do wonders for the spirit, and we are excited to incorporate more of both into daily life in the coming weeks.
Health and well-being remain our top priority. Our nursing team continues to provide attentive, compassionate care while also encouraging residents to stay active and connected. Whether it’s participating in group activities, enjoying visits with loved ones, or simply taking a stroll down the hallway, every moment of engagement contributes to overall wellness.
We are also taking this time to refresh and renew our routines, ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our residents. Spring is a perfect reminder of the importance of adaptability, positivity, and care in everything we do.
We deeply appreciate the trust you place in us each day. Your support and involvement make a meaningful difference in the lives of your loved ones and our entire community. As always, we welcome your communication and encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas.
Wishing you and your families a joyful and refreshing spring season.
Warm regards,
Jensen Riley-Director of Nursing
