Activity Update

“It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside.”
-Maud Hart Lovelace

June is the month of the best of spring and summer! Our MHC June activity calendar is packed with that vitality for our residents.

Our front porch is full of bright, fragrant flowers! The butterflies and hummingbirds thrive on them, and so do we! What a great setting for games, music, learning history and chatting with refreshments! We encourage our families to take their loved ones to the front porch. It is the perfect spot for your visit.

Several country bus rides are planned to see the beauty of our area and to watch the changes in trees and flowers and the crops. We never get too old to have another adventure!

Father’s Day weekend (June 14th) is a great time for a car show. We all remember our dads teaching us to drive and having us hand him wrenches for a repair. The Pen City Cruisers Car Club and other car enthusiasts in our community will be bringing their rides to Montrose Health Center. What a great opportunity to see some cars from yesterday! Trystan Grisham will be providing the music, and the activity department will provide treats. Do you have an older or an unusual car? Please join us!

Our Montrose Health Center family plans to make homemade ice cream for staff and for residents’ enjoyment. And during CNA week, we will have a BBQ Picnic together. Family and food truly go together.

Music will be in the air with the Noisy Neighbors Band, Over the Hill Gang and the Sunshine Sisters. Some express their music with their feet—Silver Steppers and the Circle B Square.

Our hearts will be ready to welcome summer in all its lively vitality. We hope you will join us!

Dietary Update

WOW! How is it June already? Time is flying by, that’s for sure! Let the summer fun begin. Here is a little update on our opening dining, it’s going FABULOUS! The residents love it! They love being able to pick and choose when they want to eat and what they want to eat. They love coming up to the food table and looking at what we are serving and then choosing what they want to eat. Through all these changes, one thing we have learned is giving them all these different options makes happy residents. That was our #1 goal, and it was a success! I hope everyone enjoys the warmer weather that’s coming.
