Grandparents Day is Sunday, September 8. According to the Grandparents Day website, the holiday was first proclaimed in 1978 when the US congress passed legislation proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day. President Jimmy Carter signed a proclamation, and the US began observing this day.

We ask you to honor the contributions of grandparents in the lives of children on this day with cards and letters, visits, taking photos, reading books together, and any way that fits your appreciation of your grandparents!

At MHC, staff and residents will be sharing memories of our grandparents over the years. We plan to post these on a bulletin board to honor these vital people in our upbringing! Of course, we will have goodie bags for our residents to enjoy.  We want to remember that life would not be as sweet without grandparents.

Happy Grandparents Day to everyone in our MHC family!
