January 2023 Newsletter Article for Activities

Wintertime is great for cozy and simple ways to spend time. Here at Montrose Health Center, that is exactly what we plan to do. Playing cards and Yahtzee, looking at baby photos and at cookbooks, listening to 45 rpm records, watching birds, and eating ice cream…these are just a few good old-fashioned ways to enjoy January.

Along with the old, we will ring in the new! Lunch Crunch time will feature a 15-minute, seated workout at the dining tables while residents wait for lunch. Filling those minutes with upbeat music and movement will give residents a mobility tune-up, stimulate a good appetite, and make fitness fun! Also, new is our Sports & Recreation Time, featuring different fitness events twice each week. Parachutes, bean bags, pool noodles, beach balls, and snowball fights.  The cozy warmth of winter indoors will not make our resolution to be fit and healthy go to sleep.

Guests for January will feature our neighbor on the bluff, Jo Krotz. Jo will talk about her 1884 on the Bluff business. Another familiar face, Victoria Matlock of Lee County Floral, will be dropping by with her delightful Senior Crafternoon event.

As always, our wonderful musical neighbors and our local church groups will keep our hearts and souls tuned up for a great new year! Happy New Year to our friends and families!
