December’s Goal: Warm, Full Hearts
“Christmas Eve was a night of song that wrapped itself about you like a shawl. But it warmed more than your body. It warmed your heart... filled it, too, with a melody that would last forever. Even though you grew up and found you could never quite bring back the magic feeling of this night, the melody would stay in your heart always - a song for all the years.” (Iowa-born author Bess Streeter Aldrich in Song of Years)
The Activity Department will bring Christmas memories to our residents through best-loved traditions like cookie decorating and a gingerbread house-building contest with staff/resident teams. Favorite Christmas music will ring through our halls and rooms throughout this joyful season. Christmas trees, decorated by our local Scouts, and crafts made by our residents will give our home a festive glow. City of Christmas bus rides, free shopping events, sending Christmas cards, fun games, and giving to others are all planned to help inspire warm recollections of Christmases past. Families and friends and staff will be a part of making new memories to cherish with our residents. Santa always makes a stop here, bringing presents for all. The past and the present meet at Montrose Health Center.
May your hearts be full of the Reason for the Season as we enjoy this month of celebration! May the song for all the years stay in your hearts forever!
Merry Christmas from the Activity Department!
